Wrong way to use rice at a wedding...

I woke up early this morning to head out to Ran-tizzy for a hair appointment with the bride, Kimmy d., and all the other bridesmaids. My morning got off to a rocky start, as I submerged my phone in water when my water bottle opened in my purse. Oy. I had to run back upstairs, and use my super-awesome common sense skills. I had read that burying the wet item in dry rice would soak up the water, so I poured rice into a bowl, dumped my phone in, covered it in tin foil, and got in the car to head out. On the way to pick up CoCo, I made a quick turn and spilled rice all over my car. Awesome. On the up side, the technique worked and my phone is good as new! On the down side, I can't find the vacuum attachment to get the pile of rice out of the spaces between my console and front seats...

Breakfast at Uncle Jack's

The anticipation for the wedding was at its peak on this fine morning! We woke up, post end of the school year, and already legally married with nothing on our minds besides leaving for our wedding and honeymoon.

There's nothing I love more than going out to breakfast with my HUSBAND on a relaxing Sunday (late) morning. (We had been married for two whole days at this point! Wahoo!)

While enjoying my delicious coffee (seriously-everything at this place is SO good, even the plain ol' coffee! And reasonably priced too!), I found a little bit of debris at the bottom...
Apparently, I had dropped a sugar packet wrapper at the bottom while mixing it in. Um, Al may want to eat and drink anything I prepare with caution...

Regardless of my trash-filled coffee, I had a fantastic time at breakfast, just reveling in my new married bliss, and looking forward to our amazing trip!

The Greenburg Wedding

Two of our friends, Matt and Kristi kicked off our summer o' friend's weddings today!
We first attended their beautiful ceremony in Rantoul, then took a mini break before the reception to have some chips and 'ritas at El Toro.
We were definitely pumped and prepping for Mexico at this point. We spent the entire meal talking about our upcoming vacation!

We then headed to the reception and had a blast with the other guests at our table. The food was good, and the company was even better! I did a tiny bit of dancing, then we headed out on the town for a bit before snuggling into bed and enjoying our brand new marriage! Woo hoo!

Kimmy D.'s Chicago Bachelorette Party

Kimmy D. had her big night out in Chicago at Excalibur. We all pitched in on a hotel room, had an underwear party and danced it up! :)

Awesome Kiddos

I am so lucky to have had such amazing students for the past three years. These kiddos all banded together and gifted me with a delicious going-away cake and a very sweet poster they created, with the help of my co-worker and friend, Abbie. I definitely teared up today...just a sign of things to come!
